What is the order of the Zelda game mythology?

I know when the Zelda games have come out. Thats not what i want to know. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had the original Link while other games had decendants of Link. I want to know the order of the zelda games, more so Twilight Princess. If the answer gives any spoilers away reguarding Twilight Princess please omit that game.
Please also add which games had the original Link.

What is the difference in the zelda games with toon link and the zelda games with real link?

Toon link games are more childish but in an epic way but real link games are more violent and a little more epic. But what is the difference between these games. Is there diff stories or something. The only Zelda game i played is Twilight Princess for Wii and wind maker and im impressed beyond beleif. Also what was the first game that showed toon link. Again why did they make toon link.
